Maybelline Color Bloom Lip Balm Review

24 Oct

This lip balm review is brought to you by someone who likes to skip lipstick on most days. I usually have a lot of eyeliner on my lids, and wouldn’t want to overpower that with my lip color.

I’ve been using Maybelline’s Color Bloom lip balm for about a year now, mostly because it’s cheaper and already has SPF 16. Compared to their more popular line of Baby Lips, this Maybelline lip balm is different because it starts out with a clear stick, and changes to a pink color when you apply it on your lips.

This shade is in the pink blossom. I find it too bright for my skin tone. It would probably work better for those with really fair skin.

Snow White is perfect for this shade. See how happy she is?

A lip balm review would not be complete without an actual application photo! This is in pink blossom.

1/2 with the Maybelline lip balm made it a brighter shade of pink

The Maybelline Color Bloom lip balm though tinted can’t replace the good old lipstick especially if you have a darker upper lip. Three coats max if you want a pseudo-lipstick tint in exchange for a sticky feeling.

Goodbye overly used lip balm on the right!

Supple Lips?

It reduces chappy lips, granted your skin isn’t already overly dry.

Staying Power

It fades within half a day. Not bad since it’s not really expensive so you can reapply without the guilt.

Is it Worth My Money?

You get what you pay for. I’ve heard of more expensive brands which claim that you only need to reapply once a day. It’s affordable and needs reapplying, not a bad deal, really. You can find the Maybelline Color Bloom Lip Balm in most drugstores.
